Esta terça-feira, 23 de novembro, foi divulgada a lista de nomeados para a 64ª edição dos Grammys. As nomeações foram anunciadas via streaming, a partir da página e redes oficiais da Recording Academy. A transmissão online contou com uma série de estrelas, como Finneas, Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, BTS e até os italianos Måneskin. Foram também anunciadas algumas novidades, como o aumento de 8 para 10 nomeados nas categorias principais: Álbum do Ano, Gravação do Ano, Canção do Ano e Revelação do Ano.
O norte-americano Jon Batiste - músico residente do programa "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" - lidera a corrida com 11 nomeações, entre as quais as categorias de Álbum do Ano e Gravação do Ano com o "We Are" e "Freedom", respetivamente. Logo a seguir, com oito nomeações, estão Justin Bieber, Doja Cat e H.E.R. Billie Eilish e Olivia Rodrigo somam sete nomeações cada uma.
A cerimónia de entrega dos galardões, que reconhece os melhores da indústria da música, vai ter lugar no início do próximo ano. Está marcada para o dia 31 de janeiro de 2022 no Staples Center, em Los Angeles, Estados Unidos. O evento vai ser transmitido pela estação de televisão CBS.
