Foi ontem conhecida a lista com os nomeados para a edição deste ano dos Video Music Awards da MTV. A entrega de prémios vai acontecer no próximo dia 30 de agosto no Barclays Center, em Brooklyn, Nova Iorque, nos Estados Unidos.
Ariana Grande e Lady Gaga são as artistas que conseguiram mais nomeações. Ambas estão nomeadas em nove categorias, incluindo para Vídeo do Ano com o tema 'Rain On Me'. Na corrida para este galardão, o mais importante da cerimónia, estão ainda os vídeos de Billie Eilish ('everything i wanted'), Eminem ft. Juice WRLD ('Godzilla'), Future ft. Drake ('Life Is Good'), Taylor Swift ('The Man') e The Weeknd ('Blinding Lights').
Na categoria de Artista do Ano encontramos os nomes de DaBaby, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone e The Weeknd. Os nomeados para Melhor Canção são Billie Eilish ('everything i wanted'), Doja Cat ('Say So'), Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande ('Rain On Me'), Megan Thee Stallion ('Savage'), Post Malone ('Circles') e Roddy Ricch ('The Box').
Na lista de nomeados para Melhor Colaboração estão as parcerias de Ariana Grande e Justin Bieber ('Stuck with U'), Black Eyed Peas e J. Balvin ('RITMO - Bad Boys for Life'), Ed Sheeran e Khalid ('Beautiful People'), Future e Drake ('Life Is Good'), KAROL G e Nicki Minaj ('Tusa') e Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande ('Rain On Me').
A cerimónia deste ano marca o regresso da entrega de prémios ao Barclays Center, em Brooklyn, tal não acontecia desde 2013. A lotação da sala estará limitada devido à Covid-19. Também por causa da pandemia foram acrescentadas duas novas categorias: Melhor Vídeo Feito em Casa e Melhor Atuação da Quarentena.
